Meet Max Freer:

Shaking Up the Creative Industry, One Idea at a Time.

 

Max Freer, a powerhouse in the world of creative brand marketing. Maxine’s journey from a council estate in South Bank, Middlesbrough to the boardrooms of corporate giants is nothing short of inspiring. Growing up, Maxine faced her fair share of challenges, including battling dyslexia and academic hurdles. But instead of letting that hold her back, she used her passion for art as a springboard to success.

 

The 1960s Mad Men era might seem far behind us, but there’s still an enormous gender discrepancy in the creative industries. Shockingly only 1% of creative agencies are founded by women and the number of agencies with female creative directors is about 3%.

 

From her early days as a visual merchandiser at Topshop to founding her own agency, We Do, Max’s career has been nothing short of stellar. She’s worked with big names like Trinity Mirror, Capital Radio Group, and Bauer Media leaving her mark with innovative strategies and award-winning campaigns.

 

But Max didn’t stop there. In 2018, she launched OOK (One of a Kind), an agency that’s turning heads in the industry. With a focus on inclusivity and purpose-driven collaborations, OOK aka One of a Kind is breaking the mould of traditional agencies and paving the way for a brighter, more diverse future.

 

Max has long list of accolades, including being named a ‘Disruptor for Good’ Shortlist Finalist at Northern Power Women and winning the Tees Businesswomen Awards. She constantly pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. But beyond the awards and achievements, what sets Max apart is her passion for making a difference.

 

Whether it’s mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs or championing causes close to her heart. In 2023 she founded Female Founder UK to help bridge the enterprise gap between females in the North vs the South and spotlight Northern females from across all industry.
